The Primer level is an introduction to “doing math.” The emphasis is not on demonstrating mastery but on becoming familiar with concepts and easing into formal learning. They will become familiar with Math-U-See Manipulatives and develop a positive attitude towards learning math.

Building on foundational concepts from Alpha, Beta expands on multiple-digit addition and subtraction. The crucial concept of place value, introduced in Alpha, is further developed. Using place value charts and math manipulatives, students visualize and comprehend multiple-digit operations effectively.
